Statewide Parent Involvement Summit

Nevada’s Fourth Family Engagement in Education Summit was held on May 18, 2012 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Student Union.

The Summit featured Keynote Speaker: Eileen Kugler, author of Innovative Voices in Education: Engaging Diverse Communities and Debunking the Middle-Class Myth: Why diverse schools are good for all kids. Eileen is a global speaker on the benefits that diversity brings schools, communities and workplaces, challenging stakeholders to break through “myth perceptions” about race and all aspects of culture.

Nevada’s Third Parent Involvement Summit was held on March 12, 2010 at the University of Nevada, Reno-Joe Crowley Student Union in Reno, Nevada.

2008 Parent Involvement Summit

Nevada’s Second Parent Involvement Summit was held on February 29, 2008 at the Northwest Career and Technical Academy in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Summit was founded by Nevada State Assemblywoman Debbie Smith and Washoe County School District Trustee Barbara Clark, and is a partnership with various organizations in the state, including the Nevada Department of Education, Clark County School District, Nevada Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Washoe County School District and the Nevada State PIRC at the Education Alliance.
